Aloha Hollywood Beach, Florida. Could not take the cold weather and needed a break from all the COVID news, so the wife and I bought plane tickets to Fort Lauderdale for a 10N stay at Hollywood Beach. The Fort Lauderdale Airport is not easy to maneuver as you have four different terminals and need to ride a shuttle bus to the car rental. Once we picked up our rental we were on the way. I will make this short and hit the highlights.
Had a lovely small apartment
a few steps from Hollywood Beach and the lovely beach boardwalk (Hollywood Broadwalk) where you can walk, bike, run or just people watch. I was impressed with the wide paved path over 2 miles long along a lovely CLEAN beach. On most evenings it gets busy but there’s room for everyone with space to spare. We enjoyed listening to the music and the variety of excellent eating establishments. For a fun activity we scoped out the Street Art map on the downtown website and drove to the downtown area. We had a great time hunting out the various street murals/street art on numerous buildings - we were even lucky enough to see two artists painting a mural.
Due to COVID, some places we wanted to visit were either restricted or closed, but that did not stop me from visiting the Margaritaville Resort for the “Flowrider”. We had so much fun that we are planning a return visit to this fun place.
